October’s cultural events programme gives you even more reason to head to Fuengirola

Whether you turn to our team here at Simply Shuttles with a view of booking the Fuengirola golf transfers that will enable you to get from one challenging course to another, or you instead head to this coastal town in order to enjoy the restaurants, seaside, or historical sites, there are clearly a lot of good reasons to make this resort a focus of your time on the Costa del Sol.

And now, visitors might have been provided with another excellent reason to plan a trip to the locality. As reported by SUR in English, a packed programme of cultural events has just been unveiled for October 2023, with most of them being free of charge.

What could you be doing in Fuengirola over the coming month?

The news website for the south of Spain explained to its readers that the likes of exhibitions, concerts, archaeological workshops, and literary meetings would all be on offer in Fuengirola over the course of the month.

The fun and festivities will begin on Wednesday 4th October, with an exhibition of drawings by artist Paco Roca set to open on that date at the municipal museum. And if you fancy visiting, you will have the opportunity to do so right up until 19th November.

Or perhaps you’re more of a music fan, in which case, your tastes might lean towards the Nino Bravo tribute concert that will be performed by Serafín Zubiri and the Municipal Band of Fuengirola at the municipal auditorium on 11th October? If you will be in Fuengirola during this time, the ticket price for this concert is just €10.

Other cultural highlights during the month are set to include archaeology workshops at the Finca del Secretario on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd October, as well as two concerts by the Orbis Symphony Orchestra – with the municipal auditorium again the venue – on 26th and 27th October. Although the first of those concerts is for children from the municipality’s various schools, the second one is accessible by the general public, with admission being free until capacity is reached.

On 24th October, meanwhile, the municipal library will host the Il Ciudad de Fuengirola Illustrated Album Prize. This is a competition that can be contested by authors and illustrators of any nationality, with a prize of €10,000 on offer. Those who wish to attend this event will need to register in advance on the website

Indeed, we would emphasise for these events in general, that you cannot necessarily depend on just turning up “on the day” if there is a specific one that interests you. So, we would urge you to consult the broader Fuengirola.es website for the most complete and up-to-date information.

This is a part of Andalucia that has something to offer all year round

Of course, even if you don’t plot a path for any of these specific events, you will be well-justified in taking a trip to Fuengirola during October 2023.

Indeed, the town typically sees average daily maximum temperatures of around 24 degrees C at this time of year. So, you will be able to count on enjoying an outdoorsy break here without the tourist crowds necessarily being as intense as they are at the height of July and August.
